In 2003, Goldman joined former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, and entrepreneur Joel Hyatt, to form Current Media. As Chief Operating Officer, Goldman was responsible for overseeing distribution, ad sales, technical operations, legal & business affairs, and finance. He played an integral role in building the company into a profitable entity with a TV network in 60 million homes in the U.S., U.K., and Italy, and a website generating 7 million monthly unique visitors.

Media Executive, James Abee, is an accomplished television producer, director, and programmer with a broad creative background in non-fiction storytelling. James serves as the company’s Vice President, Programming.

Born in Oak Ridge Tennessee, an unusual scientific research city created as part of the Manhattan Project during WWII to build the first Atomic bomb, James grew up surrounded by some of the brightest minds on the planet. Being exposed to such a diverse international group of thinkers from an early age kindled a passion for creative expression and alternative ways of seeing the world.

After studying drama and psychology at the University of Tennessee, this passion eventually led him to India where he spent several years learning and practicing yoga and meditation under the guidance of a renowned yoga master. It was during this time that James came into contact with some of the most powerful and transformational ideas on wellness for the mind, body, and spirit. From hatha yoga to Chinese medicine and ayurveda, he was exposed to a wide range of healing modalities rarely available at the time to most westerners. In addition, he became an integral member of a large in-house television division producing documentaries and live satellite broadcasts on yoga, meditation, and alternative wellness.

In 2005, Abee joined Current TV, the independent cable television network founded by Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, where he contributed to the launch of the U.S. channel, and led the programming development efforts for Current’s channel launches in the U.K and Italy. Abee also developed and managed Current’s VOD offering, its custom in-flight entertainment channel on Virgin America, and its programming block on DirecTV’s “The 101”. In addition, Abee managed special programming projects for the network including the network’s first long-form special, and its first celebrity contributed program directed by Bono.

Abee has also produced and directed half-hour shows; a notable feature documentary, Full Blossom, on enigmatic poet-actor Roberts Blossom, known for his memorable roles in such classic films as Home Alone and Escape From Alcatraz; and programming for corporate clients such as Hewlett Packard, Banana Republic, Genentech, and Restoration Hardware.
